Say Bye Bye to Migraine Headache

The one last thing you ever want to have at the end of the day is migraine headache. Remember those migraine symptoms such as nausea or vomiting experiences, and the time when you experience flashes of light, zigzags, blind spots or stars during a migraine headache. Terrible feeling right?

Migraines are often triggered by psychological stress, and it usually appears when one starts to relax after a long period of stress conditions. So if you thought you can take a break and rest after a hard day work, the annoying migraine headache will come and give you a disastrous time.

Usually before the headache appear, some sufferer experience some symptoms telling them signs of migraine coming.

So what can you do? Never fear, not to panic, here are some migraine remedy you can use to tackle migraine headache whenever it attacks you.

While sitting, try to relax your head and allow it to be as limp as possible. Let your chin touch or almost touching your upper chest when relaxing. Rotate your head clockwise slowly several times, and then do that counter clockwise the same number of times. As your body become stiff and hard after a hard day work, this relaxation technique can help to loosen up your body. You can also do some light exercise to relax yourself. When you feel a headache is coming, exercise it out of you. Try gentle exercises such as yoga or slow swimming in the pool.

Researches have shown that the herb feverfew is very helpful for vascular headaches such as migraine. You can try taking 25mg of freeze-dried pulverized leaves twice daily. This quantity is enough to prevent a migraine, while if you suffer from a severe attack, you may take up to 1 or 2grams of the ground herbs.

Do you know that certain food you eat can aggravate migraine headache? Food like nuts, chocolate, coffee, wheat, chess and other dairy products, hot dogs, and luncheon meats contain nitrites, citrus, MSG, and alcohol that is bad for headache. Hence if you are suffering from migraine frequently, try to avoid these foods. You should also avoid salads sold as salad bars as they keep their vegetables fresh looking by adding chemicals that can cause or exacerbate a headache.

You can also try to take a hot bath and cold water bath together which is also good for headache. Fill a bathtub with hot water, add several teaspoon of Epsom salt. Soak yourself in the tub for 10 to 20 minutes. Then dry, drain the water, and turn on the cold shower.

Allow the cold water to spray your feet, knees, legs, back, torso, and head for 3 minutes. Then dry off, dress
and relax in bed. People who can stand this will improve their blood circulation and reduce head congestion and pain which causes migraine headache. This method is definitely not for everyone as some people are hypersensitive to heat and cold when they have headache, so try not to do this if you cannot stand it.

And here are some of the migraine remedies you can use to counter a migraine headache. I am sure by
understanding more about your condition, you will one day free yourself from this terrible headache. Till that day, relax and learn more!

How to Relieve Headache Using Massage Technique

Massage is another way of treating headaches. It is especially effective for headaches caused by muscle tension or stress (tension headaches, migraines). Massage improves blood circulation and reduces tightness and eases the pain.

Although, massage is thought to be something that is done by or for others, there are some massage techniques that you can do yourself. And they are really easy to do, not only at home, but in the office as well or wherever headache strikes you.

Start by breathing deeply. It is very important that you try to relax. Do not tense your shoulders or hands when applying massage. Keep breathing regularly. I know it may be hard at first to concentrate on your breathing, hands, shoulders and remembering massage techniques all at the same time. But, I promise, it will get better with practice. Under no circumstances hold your breath, otherwise you'll just build up more tension.

Massaging the scalp can be an excellent for fighting tension headache. The technique I'm going to describe is called a fingertip massage.

You start by placing you fingertips on both sides of your scalp. Press gently and move your scalp back and forth in a circular motion. Keep doing it until you massaged the entire scalp, including the area above and around your ears. Your fingers should not slide across the skin, just move it the scalp itself.

21 Proven Ways to Conquer Your Headache Without Using Pain-Killers

Another way of improving blood circulation in your scalp is to grasp small amount of hair between your fingertips and gently lift it away from the scalp. To get a better effect it is suggested to twist you hair slightly as you lift it. If you experience any pain, you're lifting your hair too far or twisting it too much. Be gentle, you don't want to be bald by the end of the month.

Massaging your forehead and temples by making small circles with your fingertips can also reduce tension headache.

Finish the massage by giving yourself a shoulder rub. Just squeeze your right shoulder with your left hand and hold it for a couple seconds. Then repeat the same technique but with your left shoulder and right hand.

Give yourself massage at least once a day. Ideal would be to give yourself a massage in the morning and the second time during the day. The whole massage will only take you about 10-15 minutes. Take that time to relax, because you deserve it.

There are also some other alternative treatments used for all types of headaches. They include visualization, acupuncture, acupressure, yoga, aromatherapy and hydrotherapy. Learn more about natural ways to treat headaches at www.stop-headaches.com
