Excessive
sweating has a huge impact in patients lives and job performances
because they are a big obstacle in many forms of social interaction.
It
can be a life affecting condition for patients. If you do not do
something about it, excessive sweating will not let you enjoy life in
its full extent. There is no reason to be ashamed: did you know that
nearly 8 million Americans also suffer from excessive sweating?
Just
like you, they've felt the embarrassment of sweating with no control in
front of surprised strangers. But you don't need to panic. There are
many treatments available for you to decrease the amounts of sweat that
your body releases.
Let
us start by describing the most common excessive sweating causes and
then we will talk about possible treatment options.
Excessive
sweating causes:
- Hereditary
causes: medical research shows that excessive sweating
has a strong genetic component. If someone in your family suffers from
excessive sweating, this can be a cause.
- Overweight:
fat people tend to have a higher body temperature than thin people.
This increase in the system temperature has the natural consequence of
excreting a bigger volume of sweat under the same circumstances.
- Toxins:
Some toxins such as nicotine and caffeine
increase the metabolism rate, which is also an excessive sweating cause.
- Stress:
stress also triggers adrenaline through
the circulatory system, thus constituting another cause of excessive
sweat.
- Improper
use of creams: Most kinds of skin creams block the pores
preventing the body from releasing ordinary amounts of sweat naturally.
This process stores the sweat particles inside of the body and end up
provoking a big volume of sweat release when it has accumulated enough
sweat to break the blocked pores.
- Improper
use of clothes: Clothes that prevent the air from flowing
in and out of the body can be yet another cause of excessive sweating.
The use of cotton clothes is highly recommended.
As
we said already, whatever the main cause of excessive sweating is in
your case, the good news is that there are many things you can do to
improve your situation.
Most
treatment alternatives will basically fall into one of these
categories: surgery, medications and detox.
Surgery
The
surgical option is the preferred by many patients. It is a short and
non intrusive surgery with the sole purpose of removing the sympathetic
nerve, which is the one causing most of the metabolism hyperactivity
which results in excessive sweating.
Patients
can return to their homes on the same day as the operation.
Medication
There
are some medication alternatives to treat excessive sweating. The two
most common are Botox and Beta Blockers. Both of them have the similar
effect of reducing the speed of the metabolism and thus helping reduce
the volume of sweat excreted by the transpiratory glands.
Detox
This
one is my favorite, and it will reduce your excessive sweating from 50%
to 80% at least. It is about getting rid of the toxins in your system
so your body doesn't have an excuse to keep sweating. The best way to
achieve this is by stop taking in any kind of toxins (tobacco, alcohol,
caffeine) and fatty foods, drink lots of water and exercise daily.
Whatever
the excessive sweating cause, there is something you can do about it.
It is time to start planning how you are going to get rid of this
annoying problem.
