INTESTINAL PARASITES
Some
symptoms of the invasion of intestinal parasites are itch in the
rectum, cramping abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, alternation of
constipation and diarrhea, coughing, bloating, bloody stools and weight
loss. Children can grind their teeth during the night, wake up often,
be fussy and wet their beds. If you notice these symptoms, you should
get laboratory tests done to find out what exactly the cause
of it is. And if it is caused by intestinal worms, you should find out
what group of parasites they are.But sometimes the invasion of intestinal worms has no symptoms or the symptoms come and go.
It is very important to follow personal hygiene rules, wash fruits and vegetables very well and even rinse them with boiling water, do not eat undercooked fish and meat, drink only boiled or bottled water and wash your hands through out the day, especially after a contact with animals.
Pinworms
Pinworms are parasitic roundworms that reside in the intestines of around 200 million people worldwide with the majority of its hosts being small children. They are also commonly known as seat worms and thread worms and go by the scientific moniker of Enterobius vermicularis. Its white color and long pin like shape identifies the pinworm. The wing like ridges that run the length of its body can also identify it upon cross section. With the male being 2.5 to 5 millimeters in length and the female measuring in at 8 to 15 millimeters, the adult pinworm can sometimes be seen with the naked eye in the stool of the host, looking like small white worms. You will, however, need a microscope to see the eggs.
While in the intestines the male pinworm fertilizes the female who then travels down to the colon and leaves the host through the anus. At the rim of the anus, the female deposits her eggs and then secretes a substance that causes severe itching, which of course leads to scratching. The eggs get stuck underneath the fingernails and then find their way back into the host (or others) via the oral cavity. They hatch in the stomach and then travel back down to the intestine where they start the life cycle all over again, with their life cycle lasting two to six weeks.
Pinworms are extremely easy to get, spreading from one child to another as they play together and share toys. The eggs are resilient and can survive on the skin for several hours and up to two weeks on clothes, bedding and toys. We all know children love to tick their filthy hands in their mouth, allowing the eggs to travel back down to the intestines and began anew.
The only real damage pinworms cause their host is an itchy bottom, although some research does indicate a correlation with a zinc deficiency. Pinworm infections are generally mild and are easily treated with a common worming medication such as pyrantel and mebendazole. An ounce or two of prevention needs to be taken by the family in order to keep pinworms from spreading. All blankets, clothes, towels, toys, etcetera should be washed in hot water, and all fingernails should be thoroughly cleaned and, if possible, cut short.
Clean Your Colon
Flukes, tapeworms, and roundworms, are common parasites that can find their way into our body through the foods that we eat and liquids that we drink. Once inside, they make their way into our intestines and colon, where they set up shop and make themselves right at home. These colon parasites will eventually bring on chronic disease and sickness if not properly controlled. The best way to make sure that you rid yourself of these parasites is regular colon cleansing.
There are many ways to clean our your colon from high fiber diets, enemas, medication as well as herbal supplements. Herbal supplements seem to be the ideal way to go about cleansing your colon because they are less intrusive then a full colonic enema, safer than pharmaceuticals and more effective than increasing your fiber intake. There are several different herbs that work and you will be able to adapt a method that best suits you.
Ridding your colon of parasites can be an arduous task that may take many months to complete. These parasites have evolved to thrive in your digestive tract and they will not just decide to go away peacefully once you began a herbal regimen. You are going to have to stick with the regimen you choose for quite some time before you fully eradicate them. It may take up to three months before your colon is fully cleansed.
The single scariest thing about parasites is how fast they are able to proliferate. A single one can lay around 10,000 eggs at one time, making it extremely hard to totally wipe them out. This makes being thorough with your treatment extremely important. It is also important to choose a treatment that is going to effectively and efficiently wipe out the parasite. Leaving just a single one behind could spell doom for you.
Wormwood, common sloves, and black walnut hull are the three most common herbs used to get rid of tapeworms, roundworms and flukes from your system. Wormwood is a tonic that has been known to soothe the stomach and help people regain their appetite. Both Black Walnut Hulls, and Sloves have been used as a natural means to expel intestinal worms by naturists for a long time. Be sure to check if the herbal medication you are taking contains these three herbs, before purchasing it.
If abdominal pain becomes severe, it is important to start the colon cleansing process as soon as possible. Abdominal pain is one symptom of roundworms. Other symptoms include dry hair and skin, acne, rashes and other skin problems. Checking your stool for what looks like pieces of rice is another good way to ascertain whether you have roundworms. If roundworms go unchecked for too long, they may even cause death.
Coming up with the right treatment to cleanse your colon is important since parasites are both hard to detect and even harder to get rid of. Regular colon cleansing is the surest way to keep your insides happy.

CAUSES,
SYMPTOMS & TREATMENT OF GIARDIASIS
The Giardia Lamblia (which also goes by the names Giardia doudenalis and giardia intestinalis) gets into its human host via the consumption of contaminated water or food, or via personal contact. Once in the intestine, the parasite then can leave the body via stool deposits where it can sit and wait for its next victim. The protective outer shell of the parasite allows it to stay outside of a host for extended periods of time.
The parasite is most commonly ingested when it is in this cyst form. In its protective shell the Giardia Lamblia can exist for long periods, , even in the coolest river bed , until it is digested. Once inside, the stomach acid triggers the cyst releasing the two trophozites that exist inside which go on to attach to the mucus lining of the digestive tract via their ventral sucking disk where it weakens its host by limited the body’s absorption of carbohydrates and fats
Giardia Lamblia is believed to be zoonotic and nature, meaning that it can be passed around from different animal species. Other animals that our thought to be hosts for the parasite include beavers, birds, horses, dogs, cats and cattle. The most common way to get Gardia is by drinking water that has been contaminated by the feces of one of these animals, making it a serious problem for people who drink untreated water or eat uncooked food. Backpackers who drink from streams lakes or rivers without first treating their water are always in danger of getting this parasite. Another way to get it is by inadvertently putting something that has been contaminated in your mouth, putting people at daycare and institutional facilities at risk.
Symptoms
Giardiasis symptoms may appear within three days of ingesting the cysts, or may take up to a full month to come about. Generally, it takes about ten days for the symptoms to crop up. These symptoms include abdominal cramps, intestinal bloating, loss of appetite, upset stomach, nausea, vomiting, headaches, flatulence, diarrhea and a mild fever. Extended bouts of Giardiasis can lead to dehydration and weight loss. While most people experience some type of symptoms, it is possible to have the parasite and not experience any at all. Foul smelling diarrhea that floats (because of the unabsorbed fats) is one of surest ways to detect Giardiasis.
Treatments
An antibiotic known as Flagyl is the common treatment for Giardiasis. It is taken three times a day for 5 to 10 days and it is not recommended for heavy drinkers or women in the early stages of pregnancy. Side effects of Flagyl include nausea. Other antibiotics that have been used effectively include: albenzazole, metronidazole and furizolidone. However, prevention is probably the best way to fight the ailment. Wash your hands thoroughly after going to the bathroom, dispose of sewage in a proper manner, do not drink untreated water from springs, streams, or lakes.
Children suffering from diarrhea, because of giardiasis, may become dehydrated because of excess fluid in their stool. Plenty of fluids are recommended and it is important to note that caffeinated beverages such as soda will only dehydrate the body faster.
